Welcome

Dixon Family Services is much more than a Family Resource Center. The agency serves as a one-stop shop of social services with a highly competent Self-Sufficiency Case Management Team and a qualified Clinical/Therapy Department to serve all members of the community of Dixon, with an emphasis on low, to moderate-income families. In addition to the 8-15 member staff, there are representatives on site on specific days from MediCal, CalWORKS, Food Stamps, Section 8, Nueva Vida, EMQ Families First, and many others, call for days and times. The WIC program is at our site Mondays through Fridays.

Dixon Family Services is very involved in the community with collaborations and MOU’s with the Schools, Police, City of Dixon, all other Service Providers, Chamber, Churches, and many youth and adult Service Organizations.

Dixon Family Services coordinates and participates in numerous community events such as the Community Block Party, Senior Resource Fair, Annual Logo Contest, Child Abuse Awareness Blue Ribbon Ceremony, Domestic Violence Purple Ribbon Month, and Veteran’s Stand Down to name just a few.

All Dixon Family Services programs and services are greatly augmented by generous community volunteers. Our regular volunteer pool consists of approximately 30 people at all times. During special seasonal projects such as Christmas Food for Families, Senior Resource Fair in October, and Community Block Party in April our number of volunteers can be over one hundred.

Dixon Family Services staff and volunteers are all motivated to help families and individuals in need. Going beyond the scopes of work laid out in our contracts and grants we provide translations, pro bono counseling sessions, and other needed services. We do whatever is necessary to serve the people whether it is a visit to their home, a late appointment after the normal agency hours to suit client schedules, a meeting with students and families in the schools, or a trip to other agencies with the client to advocate and expedite services. Evaluation of survey results and feedback from talking openly with the clients we serve help to guide us in decisions about prioritization of services and in the best methods of service delivery.

To summarize the strengths of Dixon Family Services, we have an excellent understanding of, and are very involved in the community we serve. We have a very committed and caring staff that stretch themselves to help clients. We are very proud to have a friendly staff that treats all clients with dignity and respect.
